WHO WILL ATTEND 1YL?

1YL is a required event for all full-time, U.S.-based Young Life staff, as well as U.S. staff serving abroad, and their spouses. International staff, select guests and donors have the opportunity to attend by invitation.

HOW AND WHEN DO I REGISTER AND BOOK TRAVEL FOR 1YL?

Pre-registration for 1YL opens in late spring 2023, and U.S. full-time staff and invitees (along with their spouses, if applicable) will specify if they will attend. Full registration and travel booking will open in August 2023.

PLEASE NOTE: ALL travel must be booked through the 1YL travel agent and must meet the travel policy parameters. Any travel booked outside of the 1YL travel agent will not be reimbursed (so, maybe don’t do that). Please be sure to book travel through our system! All flights will go through the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and John Wayne Airport (SNA).

TRAVEL FOR ATTENDEES LIVING EIGHT HOURS AND/OR 450 MILES OR LESS FROM ANAHEIM BY CAR

Attendees who reside within 450 miles, or an eight-hour drive of Anaheim, one way, are asked to drive. This includes staff in places like: Clearlake, California; Magalia, California; Dayton, Nevada; Stagecoach, Nevada; Reno, Nevada; Sigurd, Utah; Tucson, Arizona. (Please note: This list does not include all locations within an eight-hour drive of Anaheim.) You will be reimbursed for your mileage. Please check out the 1YL Mileage Reimbursement Policy here.

WHERE WILL 1YL BE HOSTED?

We are excited to hold 1YL in sunny Anaheim, California! 1YL attendees will be assigned housing at the Hilton, Marriott and Sheraton properties. All three housing locations are a quick walk to the Anaheim Convention Center, where all of our general sessions will take place.

HOW DO I ADJUST MY SET-ASIDE?

If you need to adjust your set-aside, please send Bill Ramirez the exact number of conference attendees you intend to take to the conference. Bill will calculate any needed adjustments to your set-aside. Contact Bill with any questions regarding this matter.
